Welcome back to Freaky Tuning Mag, your destination for everything drifting on Forza Motorsport 2. There's a lot of content in this edition, so don't give up on reading through it! You're going to love what you see. Please check out the "enhanced" edition in our thread on the Forums which contains picutres (Will be up in the next day or so, need pics from Lizard. :/). :D
First of all, let me thank Paterson Bros and DMTR SA for their interviews. It was great to talk to them about their respective club/shop and I hope to feature them again in the future. Another thanks to ID Lizard, who spearheaded this week's mag and wrote at least half of the content. If you've been reading the Blog, you would've noticed that we have some new staff members: Paterson Bros, DMTR Wolf, and DIS Pointguard. They will be writting some stuff in all the future editions, so be sure to keep checking us out!
Okay, time for our cover article on Club AE86. Enjoy!

Club AE86: Let the Hachi’s Unite!-Written By Freaky
If you haven’t already heard about Club AE86, started by Paterson Bros, you’re missing out on some of the most fun drifting on Forza Motorsport 2. Established in December of ’08, you know it is a serious club who is dedicated to drifting their favorite AE86’s. This group is comprised of members of the community who wish to drift with fellow AE86 enthusiast’s while having some fun along the way.
I sat down with Paterson and asked him a few questions about the club.
Freaky: Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions.
Paterson: My pleasure. :D
Freaky: When did you start the club and why?
Paterson: I started the club just before Christmas Day, 21/12/08. I started it because I knew it hadn’t been done before and I love Hachi's. Haha.
Freaky: When do you meet?
Paterson: As often as possible. Mostly Friday nights when I don’t have work the next day.
Freaky: How do you join? Do you need a "tryout"?
Paterson: Joining is really easy, just put your name down. No tryout. A lot of people mistake Club AE86 as a team, it isn't. Just a club dedicated to the AE86.
Freaky: What do you plan to do in the future?
Paterson: Well, since Touge has made a slight comeback, I’m hoping to set up a Club AE86 Touge Day, dedicated to bringing Touge back again. There will be a comp and a few prizes, so keep a look out!
Freaky: What’s the best part of Club AE86?
Paterson: The best part is meeting new people and making some friends. Taking photos on club meets is good too.
Freaky: Anything else you want to tell us?
Paterson: It's bloody hard work! :P
Freaky: Thanks again for sharing. Check out Club AE86's thread here. (http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/thread/2159348.aspx)
Paterson and the club as a whole are a great group of drifters who just want to have some fun with their Hachi’s. So, if you’re a drifter and love Hachi’s (I know they are kind of one-in-the-same), go sign up for Club AE86 and get sideways!

33 Customz Street Z-Written By ID Lizard
Ah, the Fairlady Z. Such a majestic piece of machinery. 33 Customz (also known as SoCal Customz), a smaller tuning shop ran by DRFR SoCal and ID Relentless, has put together a Z that captures the essence of Japanese street drifting. Right, so lets see what's what with this new kid on the block.
Just the initial glance at it makes you want to look again. You tell yourself "I thought I saw a
This car retains the stock RWD configuration (obviously) and uses no type of forced induction. That's right. No turbo, no type of supercharger added. Final power output after a few modifications to the engine (block, intake, exhaust, fuel system, ignition, cams) is 527 beastly horsepower with a nice 439 lb/ft of torque. These aren't childs play numbers for a car that barely weighs over 2500lbs. From the platform department to help with this power are a set of racing brakes from Endless, a new suspension set up from JIC Magic and a racing anti-roll bar from Tanabe. To help shift this power to the wheels, we have a slew of sports setups from Nismo (transmission), Ogura Clutch (clutch, duh.) and TODA (flywheel). This car is also complete with a Cusco race spec differential (that's two way, of course) and some nice weight reduction with a rollcage completely set up from Bride. This car also has an INGS aero kit to help reduce a little weight and drag.
All of this is good and like I said, I am a fan of this very clean looking set up on the Z. A few issues I have with it (if you decide to drop 400k on the car + the tune) are mostly with the tune itself. It's not a bad tune, let me get that out of the way first. I have a Z myself I drift from time to time (sacul's Ayano Option Z) and I have a tune I made for it. Now that I think about it, this really isn't much of a problem or issue with the tune itself. More or less, it's an issue with me. Going into it, I thought it would be similar to my Z. Floor it into a corner, let off the gas, feint a bit and slam it back down after some light braking. Not so much the case in this Z. This is a much more delicate tune. If you go into a corner like I just described, be prepared for a case of deja vu when you see the same corner again and again in circles. This car with the tune is capable of some SERIOUS angle, but only if you treat it right. For the first 20 minutes or so, I was trying my way before the pin dropped and I backed off a bit. Once I backed off, wow. While I won't say this is the best tune I've experienced, it is a very thorough and well done tune. On to the million dollar question (well, in this case 400k, but you get the idea). Would I buy one with my own money? I would have to give it some thought before I did it, but if I spent 400k on something else, I would always have in the back of my mind "Should have listened to me and bought that Z while you had the chance." So I'll go ahead and say it now. SoCal, Relentless, when I get the money after doing an endurance race, put one of these up tuned for me.
Feel free to check out 33 Customz here.

Drift Ink: More than just ink…-Written By Freaky
In the Drifting Techniques section, many garages/tuning salons/whatever-you-want-to-call-it’s are created and bust. Some, such as 3T and Core Concepts, stay popular and flourish. Drift Ink is one of the few who has potential to become one of the greats.
Selling drift cars that look like works of art, this shop shows it means business. DMTR SA created it almost a year ago, and since it has grown to include some of the sexiest cars I have ever seen. I cannot stress how absolutely beautiful these cars are. Most are entirely original, stemming from SA’s creativity and skill with the Livery Editor. Also included are replica’s that are painted to the highest level of accuracy possible.
Now, not to be outdone by any other shop out there, SA enlisted some help and began tuning these monsters. A few Doom Tree members help him to tune these rides until they drift perfectly. I can’t explain how great these tunes are, so you’re going to have to see for yourself.
SA and I had a chat about Drift Ink and himself last week so all of you could learn what’s going on behind-the-scenes of his shop.
Freaky: Thanks for answering some questions for us. Tell us a bit about yourself.
SA: Erm, where to start…I've been around playing and painting on Forza since Forza 1. Started over on Forza central, then found my way over here just after Forza 2 was released. Just finished up a two year course at college in multimedia, which basically is a bit of everything. Was planning on moving to California this summer to do a four year course in games art and design, but sadly with the financial thingy (damn Mexican's j/k), the price went up quite a bit, enough for me to not be able to afford it. I currently drive a Honda CBR 400rr. Well, I say drive it. Isn’t insured anymore with all the bad weather over here. Trying to sell it at the moment so I can get my hands on a RX-7 FC. Want to learn to drift and hopefully in the next couple of years enter in a couple of events where and when I can.
Freaky: What is Drift Ink?
SA: Drift Ink is a custom and replica paint shop. All of the paints are done by me when I can find the time, to a high standard I think. I have to admit though; I can take quite awhile when painting something. The tunes, until recently, were done by Blah with a tiny bit of help from me and sometimes Fallen(over). Now we have Wolf helping Blah out and the tunes keep getting better! Also, have to give a shout out to the sellers. They do all the hard work getting everyone their cars!!
Freaky: When did you start this catalog?
SA: It started around May of ‘08. I was just about done with a couple of replicas and had many ideas for other custom paints and replicas that I wanted to paint. Some people may remember when I first came over here, I opened a paint shop called SA's paint shop. (Laughs) This gave me the idea of opening a new shop that would offer more than just well painted cars, but out of the box tunes for everyone. I can remember just before we opened, there were 4 cars and Blah and I decided to build 10 of each, ready for the opening. Oh my God, I'd never been so bored in my life making all those cars! Blah felt the same too, hence all the new sellers we brought in at the time!
Freaky: How much do these rides cost?
SA: At first they ranged from 800,000cr - 1,400,000cr, depending on the design. May of seemed a little bit expensive for some people, but I thought it was a fare price at the time compared to the pricing of other shops. Plus, there were people that were still spending crazy money on cars. Now they range from 600,000 - 1,200,000 to help others get their hands on them.
Freaky: What are some of your personal favorites from Drift Ink?
SA: My favorites, huh…I would say it would have to be one of the custom designs I have done. The DIS Showdown s15 or my personal Art Factory Sha Do or what-ever-you-want-to-call-it RX-7, but as I've said to everyone I've made custom designs for or anyone asked for one, I only make it if I like the design. So yeah, I like them all.
Freaky: Any new releases we should know about?
SA: Well I've just released Masao's 09 RX-7 from D1GP. I had many problems with this car at first. The layer shifting glitch got me again when I had just finished up on a lot of logos, so I had to make them again, plus getting more than 2000 layers on each side and having the logos the right way around was like a crazy puzzle. But I figured it out. As well as Masao's new car, we will also be releasing the Virjin Jorj R32 any day now. It will come with a touge tune once Blah and Wolf get done with it. There are a couple other cars I'm planning to make in the near future, so keep an eye out.
Freaky: Thanks again for your time. Check out Drift Ink here. (http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/thread/1896197.aspx)
As you can tell, SA runs a well-organized shop and takes his time on his products. As I said before, I simply cannot state how gorgeous these cars are, so go check ‘em out and pick one up today!

Now for the Free Tune of the Week!! This one has been sitting in my garage for months now,and it's always been one of my favorites to have some fun with. I'm not the kind of guy who loves high-powered drift machines, but this is an exception; the Corvette C6 Z06. Tuned to S975, it will smoke you're competition around every corner. Nailing the sweeper on Maple Valley? Done. Crazy angle on Suzuka? Done. Killing Sunset Short? Done. Check it out for yourself and leave some feedback!
