News refresh

Alright, like I said we will be starting this up again. A few items of housekeeping to keep in mind while we start this up is that each week (starting with the first new one), we will be experimenting and trying new things, new types of articles and different kinds of reviews. In the past, I'd review the car and submit my review. When I posted the thread asking for alternate suggestions as far as content, one idea stood out more (to me atleast) in regards to reviewing. I will still be reviewing the car, but I will also hand the car over to another reviewer and share my review with them and see if they differ on key points. I, along with others, feel that this style of reviewing will prove to be more effective (see: time consuming) in the long run so if you want your car/tune/etc reviewed, please inform a member of our staff at the beginning of the week either via PM on the forums or XBL message. A good form for this would be as follows:

Tuning house/paint shop it belongs to:

Car being reviewed:

Special focus points during the review: (this would be like "I made this section glitter/carbon fiber/metallic, please review what you like about that section." It's mostly so that if you have put the effort in to that area, we don't skip over it and you aren't upset we didn't mention it :) )

What the price point of the car is: (500,000cr, 750,000cr, etc)

Will this be a LE or an Unlimited release:

If a replica, what inspired you to make this car:

If a fantasy design, how did you come up with the idea for the car:

If you have any other suggestions as to what to put on your own personal form, feel free to put it down at the bottom. This information could help us greatly with the review so that we can put out quality reviews on your car and every other car being submitted. In addition to this voluntary process, we will also get in touch with other garages asking to review an upcoming release. There are some guidelines for this though. Some of our staff, myself included, work for tuning houses and paint shops. We will not be allowed to review our own cars, regardless of if we painted them or tuned them. Say for example DDR is about to release an awesome car. I can't review it, because I would be biased and say it's an excellent car.

If anyone else has any ideas regarding experimental items we should try, please feel free to post a comment to this message or any of our upcoming issues to say what we should try.

Some changes

Well, as you might know, we haven't quite been living up to the "we'll post every day" mantra we advertised. There's a few reasons.. well.. people and one reason to blame for this. Life hit quite a bit of us hard and we're working through that currently. The good news is that Freaky elected me to take over temporarily while he's dealing with his busy schedule. While we go through this change, we might implement a few new ideas to try to run this thing smoother while we're down a person. I'll be speaking to the other guys within the coming days to see what they think and so on. On to some better news? Sure. The FTM tournament starts Sunday on Silverstone so get ready for it! Wolf and myself have been testing out new sections with a few select people. We had originally planned to keep the track a secret until the tournament basically starts but we've had a better idea. We go out and scout three sections then put it up to a poll. Of course, to keep it kind of secret, we will only use the track name. For example, we find this rad section on Road Atlanta, but in the poll it will only say "Road Atlanta." Anyway, just some things to be looking forward to. We will be posting the issue from last week shortly.. within the next few days or so. We might try to go biweekly with this to help relieve some pressure and stress. So, there we have it, some bad and some good.

AE86 PHOTO COMP

While we're debating on what to do with release schedules, I'd like to remind those of you who follow this magazine blog that the Club AE86 photo competition will be ending on April 1st so get your photos in ASAP! Who knows what you could do with an extra 5mil in your Forza account if you win? I could buy 1,000 S14's! IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES! So, get to photo shooting and good luck to all of those who enter!

Bear with us here...

So this might not the best of news to you, the reader, but I think it will be great in the long run. We here at Freaky Tuning Magazine have been extremely busy with our personal lives outside of Forza, and it has been difficult to keep up with everything the mag needs in 1 week and stay organized. So what we're probably going to do is release the mag monthly and keep updating the Blog when we can (every few days). I feel like this will help us to include more articles and events and, generally speaking, be a much more thorough magazine.

Tell us what you think about this! We want some feedback. This isn't set in stone quite yet, so feel free to comment and tell us your opinion. It might help sway our decision. :P

Thanks,

Freaky.

Update!

Okay, so now you've met some of the members of the mag...just wait until you read the next issue.

I know I've been extremely busy this week, but it seems like Lizard, Wolf, and Point are takin' care of business and getting some more ideas out there. If you haven't heard, we're planning on a monthly tournament sponsered by FTM and a few other groups. There's only going to be 16 spots open each month, so get in quickly to ensure your spot.

Hopefully next week won't be as crazy as this week and I can focus more on the mag. Our release this week will most likely be on Sunday, March 22nd, giving me some time to get everyone's articles organized and neat.

Hope you have a good Friday,

Freaky.

Introduction: Turn Your Cell Phones Off

Well my first post of many on the new Tuning Blog.

My name is Sean aka DMTR Fallen, I've been playing Forza for almost 2 years. Drifting on Forza for about a year and a half. Currently a member of Doomtree Drift, and as I'm typing this now, I am without an Xbox.

A little about myself? I'm 22 years old, currently unemployed. I just enrolled in college again, and I'm studying Media Arts and Design. I was frist introduced to drifting in 2001 through car magazines and JDM Option. I was hooked for the rest of my life. Spend many late nights with friends and other random drifters at the warehouses drifting, chatting about cars, mods, then we'd head off to a friends place for a little party, and adult beverages. Hmm, what else? I drive a mini-van, and its pretty fail, I will say. Sucks up too much gas.

Other then cars and drifting, I'm a normal guy. I spend a lil to much time at the bar on a school night, I hang out with friends daily, and I like to play hockey. Thats pretty much me in a nutshell.

Hopefully you guys will like some of the articles I have planed. Mainly interviews, but I'm working on getting some good ones for you guys.
